Is this mean?

Today, I was so happy that I did NOT cry at my desk because work is so frustrating and my nose was dripping.

Nope, today, my CO-WORKER burst into tears at her desk, because work is a despairingly sad place, where everyone cries at their desk.

And I'm glad it wasn't me this time.
Is that mean?

Yeah, you crazy girl!!

Go, get a new job...no more crying.

Real pirates don't cry, THEY PILLAGE!!!

I think "mean" would be if you were hard and callous and took great gleeful joy at watching others cry at their desks... or, maybe even orchestrated the reasons for their crying, only to delight in their misery. THAT would be mean.

"Mean" would be the word I'd use to describe the heartless bastards who run your office, knowing full well that people are miserable, and yet do nothing to improve the workplace.

You, my dear, are worth far more than they appreciate. They don't deserve you. *sticks out tongue at your managers* ttthhhhppppt!

Being happy that someone else cried is mean. But you weren't happy they cried, were you, just happy it wasn't you. So, no, not mean.

Tai, other than the obvious and necessary need for a paycheque, what keeps you there? Where's the appeal?

A very simple rule for employment, sweetie: no joy, no job. Bye bye, job.

Quit and get a job at Chapters to tide you over until something better comes along. Maybe end up managing a Chapters. Think of it, being surrounded by books all the day long...

Personally, I think that you as a pirate, should stage a mutiny—all your office mates should walk out at once. The place doesn’t run without you; if it did you never would have had a job in the first place.

My personal observation is most managers aren’t necessary. Many a work place would operate so smoother if the bosses were halved. You can’t ever get rid of all of them, after, all, someone has to sign the paycheques.

Buck up, lass. There are better things out there for you, and it sounds like you are overdue for a change.

You guys are so sweet to me.

I know, I'm just going to have to kick my own butt.
It's hard when you live alone and don't HAVE a back up system, though.

If it involves kicking your butt, I will gladly help you out there. And as for back up systems--wth are nisha and spider? You guys have been each others' back-ups since before I knew you (and that's been a while!).

There's only one thing that's holding yoiu back, Tai: inertia. It's the same reason I'm still living with the Smackdown couple, but they are better behaved now.

Back to you: Just start looking at want-ads. If something catches your eye, apply.

You have no idea how much fun your job will be once you know you are leaving it behind.

Mutany? pillage? these folks know you well... How is it that you are a pirate at heart with everything but your work environment? I think a resume is needed and you should pass it out at every opportunity until that job that is right comes along.
