Bowels of Hell.

Last week while I was in Cumberland I decided to have my hair done.

It's far less expensive to have it done at the particular salon I go too then anywhere else I've found.
BUT.
I may have to request that the dog who appears to be the shop mascot not be there next time I go.

You see, the dog farted the entire time I was there.

Loudly.

Repeatedly.

And what a tear-inducing stench it produced.

The owner didn't appear to be very chagrined about her dog's overwhelmingly bad odor.
She merely explained it away by saying, "It's because he hasn't poo'd in two days. That's why he's farting so much."

Seriously.
That was all she had to say.
I was expecting a horrified apology and a rush to put the dog outside or something.

I don't think I'll go back.

That smell was bad enough, but I really didn't need to be made aware of the state of the dogs (desperately foul) bowels as well.

It's a shame, really.
There were VERY cheap.

(And I suspect that she might want to take her pooch to the vet. Anything that smells that bad HAS to be rotting from the inside out. It's gotta be a sign of imminent death or something.)

Ugh. It's been a long time since I had a dog, but I still remember: Dogfarts are the WORST.

It's funny, though, how some situations are *slightly* better when we know that at least we get to go home and blog to the world--the entire world!!--about it.

Blogworthy or not, I might find a new hairdresser, were I in your shoes.

(Great blog though, I loved it!)

Gross! That is awful. I don't blame you, maybe if he wasn't there when you went.

Our dog never did that but I have heard pugs have bad gas.

Hey Tai!

I hope all is well...despite the puppy farts...

If they give a good hair cut, then maybe put a dab of VICKS VapoRub under your nose (or whatever coroners use...Like in "The Silence of the Lambs") when you go there...

On the bright side, at least it's not a diner...I've found that dog ass and food don't mix too well...

Also, now that I think of it, being trapped in a van on a long road trip with six burly dudes after a long weekend of drinking beer and eating various meat products is usually not conducive to pleasant aromas either...But that's a whole other story...

Take care out there, Tai!

Your Pal,

Zambo.

And to think you could smell it over the normallly intense odors of a hair salon. That IS bad.

Dog farts can't be a good way to bring in customers.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! How unprofessional can one get? That is gross. And no escape for poor you as you sat in the chair... yuck!!!! She should have lit some incense if she had to insist upon the dog being there.

Oh dear..... and to think, she has funky second-hand clothing in there, too, which she sells.... extremely funky, now, I suppose!

Mrs P. and myself were in the sack the other night going at it with my big dog next to the bed creating the aromatherapy. Uggg. Didn't stop me though, the dog that I am.

That does sound disgusting. I would think the owner under such circumstances would keep the dog elsewhere. I love the picture of the dog though.

That poor dog -- he's probably SO confused by the sounds & smells coming from his trap door...

Regardless, I doubt I would go back either...
