Venice ti amo molto molto!

What can I possibly say about Venice that hasn't been said in a dozen better ways? Well, not much, except that I really really love it.

So, without further ado, I present for your viewing pleasure: Venice!

“If you read a lot, nothing is as great as you've imagined. Venice is -- Venice is better.”
~Fran Lebowitz

“Venice is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs in one go.” ~Truman Capote

"Though there are some disagreeable things in Venice there is nothing so disagreeable as the visitors." ~Henry James

Streets flooded. Please advise. ~Robert Benchley, telegram from Venice to his editor

"Prosecco! Ti amo molto molto! Heywaitaminute...that's the bottom of my glass!" ~Tai

(Spider and Jeff took some of these pictures, too. I felt secure in the knowledge they would want me to use them, as they are splendid!)

Tai, what fabulous photographs! Did you ever see the old movie "Summertime" with Katharine Hepburn? I have always wanted to visit Venice, ever since seeing that movie. Sigh.

Lucky you!

Great photos, Tai. I love Venice, it's a very special place. The only thing I hate is that they don't clean up after their dogs and you have to walk with your head down.

"Hey, questa non รจ Venezia! Sono stato supposto di ottenere fuori a La Spezia, non Sarzana!"
Me, while lost on my way to Venice. Never fall asleep on foreign trains!

I was really enjoying that glass of prosecco...I well remember your sad face when your glass was empty.

Heh, good thing there was always a second glass. :)

Pics really are splendid...Alas, I missed Venice. But, like you, spent an hour in the train station in Pisa...Tower notwithstanding.

Venice is on my list to visit before I die. Let's hope that I don't have to live vicariously through you.
