I love this time of year.
Not for the presents or the holiday 'cheer', but because I know that from now on, each day will stretch out just a little bit further and the light will last a little bit longer.
Soon spring will arrive and the flowers will come out of the dark, cold earth.
Hurry, Spring, I miss you!
(Oh, and while I'm here, I do hope everyone had a delightful holiday, no matter what the occasion!)

I too love 'le printemps' and an advantage you have in being in Victoria is that it comes earlier than anywhere else. May it indeed come early. I'm done with winter.
cheers,
Ian
Are we going to see you on your way home???? That is before Spring?
I love daffodils, I love crocuses and tulips and bluebells too... cherry blossoms, fresh grass, the little waking bugs starting their new lives, noisy birds enjoying the bounty. Spring definitely has its charm!
I miss Spring too!
I've been missing it since October, hahaha
Tai, you and I seem to be on the same wavelength. I have geraniums post on my blog. I had to Google them today just to look at them. Love your daffodils. Looking at them I can smell the fresh spring air. Omigosh, can it come soon enough?
Josie
Those were my grandma's favorite flowers. I have some of her bulbs on my porch now. I really need to plant them...
I can't wait until the warmer days and cool nights!
Tai, I'm also always aware of the winter solstice. Yay for longer days! I hope you had a great holiday also! How's the new job?
The weather here has been so strangely mild and lovely that it's like spring never left.
I think I would like spring as much as you do, except for one thing: allergies.
Oh, the wretched pollen!
It just became winter!
I can't even think about Spring, although it was in the 60s here in Missouri.
I'm missing the pretty things in my garden too and I'm way ready for winter to be over. It looks so bleak and messy in my yard right now...some people's yards manage to look elegant with the passing of the seasons but that's something my yard has to work on.
I'm so glad you visited for the holidays, my friend. You can be my house-guest any old time!
I cant wait for those long lazy summer days.
Yes, I guess you are right. Jan and Feb here are the most bleak but I bet they will fly by just like this whole year has.
Happy New Year!
Thank you for posting a picture of daffodils. They are my absolute most favorite flower even though they don't stay around for very long. I can't WAIT to see them!
Speaking to a person with RP, I do love spring and summer. I feel trapped in a world of winter because it gets dark way too soon and I can't see or drive. It sucks.
Happy holidays to you too! Hope it was a good one.
Have a Happy New Years!
Happy New Year Tai
Winters here are long and dark and with Jan and Feb yet to go it's hard to imagine spring yet, though Daffodils will always be my favorite since their announcment of the coming of spring. Longer days and more sunlight is always a welcome thing...
Dropping in to twish you a grand 2007.
Hello Tai,
Where I live in the tropics, the flowers are always in bloom no matter what time of the year we're at.
May spring come soon to your world and may all your fondest dreams be fulfilled in 2007.
Saludos,
~Enid
