Snowdrops!

I could smell it in the air today...spring!

As early as it is, the scent of warm earth was wafting about on the breeze today.
And my snowdrops have emerged!
Hard to imagine how such a delicate flower finds the strength to emerge in the middle of winter, but they do, and boy-howdy am I ever glad for it.
To my mind, they're the harbingers of a new season, even if it does mean another 3 months of slogging rain.

Yeah, humbug on you and your snowdrops. It seems Ontario has finally remembered it suppose to be winter over that way, just in time for my arrival.

Spring???

Here in St. Louis, we're about to get a blast of cold Canadian air. Thanks a lot!

I see you are exercising your right as a Vancouver Islander to brag about the flowers coming up.

I do miss that Island perk!

ps-snowdrops are my favorite spring bloom, thanks for the pic!

Tai, there's nothing like spring on the Island. The smell in the air is unique. We don't get that here and I do miss that.

Hello, Tai. Thanks for visiting my blog. I don't think we have any snowdrops in the Washington DC/Baltimore Corridor, but we have had some snow showers today. Enough to give us a slight dusting of accumulation. It seems that our Indian Summer beginning to the season is now giving way to a full-bore wintry ending.

Now I want to run outside and check for snowdrops...but it's too dark outside. Drat.

I lived in Vancouver for most of my life. Moved to small-town Alberta in 2000. Winter starts in October and ends, if we're lucky, in May. I hate the climate here!
